Wow, wood pellets are dirtier than coal at the smokestack? It honestly feels like we are stepping backwards. Time to think of future generations of humans, plants, animals.
After decades of climate denialism from conservative politicians, are we now going to waste the next crucial ten years destroying our boreal carbon sink, shilling for small nuclear reactors and open pit mining coal............as pseudo solutions to the climate emergency???

Stop expanding the wood pellet industry! I realize we need new jobs in Ontario but we need greener solutions. It is a fact that burning wood pellets is dirtier than coal, and we need to take bolder and more mindful action to avert the worst of the climate disaster. Ontario can do so much better.
Protect our boreal forests. Flora and fauna depend on them. Humans need to stop destroying planet earth. So far we have done a very poor job of caretaking it.

Saying wood pellets are a sustainable replacement for coal and other sources of fossil fuel energy is akin to saying that we shouldn’t worry about the poison in the water cus it’s phosphorus, not mercury.

Boosting Biomass energy is THE OPPOSITE of taking action against the climate emergency, this is accelerating towards the end of the world, whoever wants to increase biomass energy to fight climate change is either stupid or straight up insane.

There is no climate emergency coming... we are in it NOW!!!
Burning the carbon in trees for fuel is no solution at all. It doesn't matter where the CO2 originates... it all traps heat and warms the planet. Instead, put any support into ACTUALLY sustainable solutions.

Turning forests into pellets to be burned doesn’t provide a green alternative fuel source that reduces carbon emissions. Research shows that cutting forests releases a lot of carbon from the Forrest and forest floor.
