Our forests - the natural habitats of many animal species - are already under severe threat. Using wood pellets and products for yet another way to decimate trees is not the solution.

One of the main products of Ontario’s forest biomass industry is wood pellets. Wood pellets are marketed as a clean energy alternative, but they are dirtier than coal.

Why can’t government simply do the right thing. If you tout your government as being protectors of the environment and the evidence of how you proceed forward is detrimental to said environment, you should not use those methods. Citizens are not stupid. Do the right thing. Aim for sustainability.
Please do not consider chopping trees for wood pellets as a good idea. Planting trees is what helps with the climate, and we have better sources of renewable energy!
Please leave as many trees growing as possible--that will help reverse climate change. Wood pellets have proven to be false climate change--green washing. Please Ontario create jobs that are based on real climate science.
We must stop expanding the wood pellet industry. This is not a climate solution. Whole trees are being used and this method is actually dirtier than the coal method. Do not "streamline" the process. We need real sustainability solutions, not green washing.
I am concerned about the expansion of biomass given the pollution given off when burned. I am also concerned about increasing deforestation to sustain demand for wood pellets.

increased deforestation is not a viable plan to combat climate change.
invest in renewable energy sources such as solar & wind to create jobs & fight climate change.
there must be more reasonable solutions to energy demands ??!!!!!!! give us , the public ,options , which we can support !!!!! cutting down old grows forests is definitelly NOT one of them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This government has lowered the bar on environmental standards consistently and deliberately to enable developers and extractors create more wealth for themselves while ignoring the needs of ordinary Ontarians

This approach the Ford government is suggesting in no way supports the need for clean energy. Plus the concern about the possibility of lumber companies clear cutting forests instead of using waste materials.
We need solutions that will reduce carbon emissions, not increase them.
