Bulletin summary

Kirkland Lake Gold Incorporated has submitted a Mine Closure Plan Amendment for filing by the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry as required under the Mining Act.

Why consultation isn't required

This Closure Plan Amendment includes the amalgamation of Detour Gold Corporation and Kirkland Lake Gold Limited into Kirkland Lake Gold Incorporated and the installation of an airfield at the Detour Lake Mine site.

Bulletin details

This amendment serves to capture the following:

  1. The acquisition of Detour Gold Corporation (DGC) by Kirkland Lake Gold Limited, and the subsequent amalgamation of DGC with a subsidiary of Kirkland Lake Gold Limited, with the amalgamated company continuing under the name Kirkland Lake Gold Incorporated.
  2. The installation of an airfield on the Detour Lake Mine (DLM) site.
