This notice was updated on March 27, 2024 to advise the public that there has been no change to the status of the proposal and it is still being considered.  No additional opportunity for comment is being provided for at this time.

Proposal Details

St. Marys Cement Inc. (Canada) has applied to vary a condition of the current licence to increase the tonnage condition for the Mast Pit to 1,250,000 tonnes and to be in combination with adjacent licence No. 625284 (Neubauer Pit).  The current licence condition for the Mast Pit allows for the removal of a maximum of 500,000 tonnes of material annually.

St. Marys Cement Inc. (Canada) operates this site under the authority of Licence No. 17600 under the ARA. The site of the Mast Pit is 37.1 hectares in size.

St. Marys Cement Inc. (Canada) also operates the adjacent site authorized under ARA licence No. 625824. The site of the Neubauer Pit is 28.3 hectares in size and the current tonnage limit for this site is 750,000 tonnes annually.
