I am strongly opposed to pausing this regulation. I am highly concerned about the movement of soil, the amount of dump trucks moving 'material' and the inability to get straight answers from multiple levels of government if the movement of material that looks like soil is or is not compliant. The proposed pause will be a big relief for Municipalities and other Construction Industry. There are several multi year contracts in construction for which grandfather is required and the pause will serve the purpose. Read more

This is so unfair and wrong in every way. Some have already complied with the regulation and it would be unfair and wrongheaded for the government to throw this out for a year with so much development going on soon.

The regulation is too confusing to small operators. There should be greater detailed placed on when a project does and does not qualify. For northern Ontario 99.99999% of soils can be identified as 'clean fill' this legislation does not consider this adequately or if it does it is not clear. Read more

ERO 019-5203 I am very much opposed to the proposed amendments. There are operators who have complied, and to delay this, for an entire year, in favour of those who have not would be unjust. Excess soil should never be allowed to be dumped into groundwater Read more

I am strongly opposed to the Ontario government‘s proposal to pause the implementation of the latest phase of the excess soil regulation. Indeed, I already viewed the timing of the introduction of this regulation on Jan 1 of 2022 as being long overdue. Read more

I would like to see the soil regulations postponed till January 2023 to allow for more time to properly implement the new rules into our current and upcoming work as they're have already been numerous issues due to covid and administrative issues.

I am opposed to the pause. It is ridiculous to pause a regulation that is already in effect. It would lead to more dumping of contaminated soil. Businesses have had several years to get ready. It is not fair to these businesses that have already complied. Read more
