Original proposal
Proposal details
Bruce Tait has applied to vary a condition of the current licence to authorize an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed in a calendar year. The current licence and site plan condition states that “No more than 15,000 tonnes of sand, gravel and clay shall be removed from the site in any calendar year. In addition, no more than 15,000 tonnes quarried stone shall be removed from the site in any calendar year”. Bruce Tait has requested that the tonnage limit be increased to a combined tonnage of 60,000 tonnes annually.

The proposal request for this licence was circulated within the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry. Additionally, notification of this application has been forwarded to the Municipality of Sudbury, Ministry of Transportation, and landowners within 120 meters of the licenced area, for comment.
Other information
Bruce Tait currently operates the site under the authority of licence No. 19430 under the ARA. In total, the licenced area is 30.85 hectares with the area to be extracted for sand, gravel and clay is 20.98 hectares and the area to be extracted for quarried stone will be no larger than 5.82 hectares.
