Instead of building more unaffordable houses single family homes that only corporations and individuals who are profiting off the housing market can buy and then rent for outrageous prices, we desperately need to focus on making houses affordable to working individuals, as soon as possible. I object to the replacement of the Provincial Policy Statement. We need strong protections for Ontario’s farmland and natural heritage - we need to be working towards combatting climate change, not adding to it by reducing farmland and the natural environment. Read more

These proposed changes would result in more rural land and farm land being developed for housing. Housing developments outside of existing towns and cities result in more people who don't have the option to walk, bike, or take transit for their transportation. Read more

The PPS has only recently been updated. It seems unrealistic to me that there is another need to refine it even further given the requirement that all municipal official plans are required to fit within the framework of the PPS. Read more
