These proposed changes should not proceed. The proposed changes will undermine heritage planning in municipalities. The process is already difficult and landowners have lots of chance to stop listing and designation. The Heritage Act is not an impediment to building affordable housing. Read more

This is disgusting. Stripping all historic properties of all protection is terrible. It’s all an excuse so you guys can make a profit on new developments. Ontario is in bed with overseas investors trying to make a quick buck. SAVE the historical properties. Read more

The proposed changes threaten our heritage but won’t lead to more truly affordable or attainable housing. Housing is not a commodity but is treated as such and the proposed changes do not address that fundamental failure. Read more

I suggest that the Government remove all changes to the Ontario Heritage Act and its regulations defined in Bill 23. The existing modest heritage provisions of this Province are having and will not have any significant impact on affordable housing provision. Be more intelligent and wise.
