Growing up in Muskoka the green belt was the only sign on normal looking environment wel driving to the city. Destroying it will only further the collapse of the already iffy environment we have. Doug Ford is an absolute monster of a leader if he chooses to help the ecological demise of Ontario.

Look, I’m not an expert by any means. But it is so painfully obvious that this is only serving to make developers richer, and to destroy important ecosystems that we need to keep the land healthy. This proposal makes no sense and goes against the promises made to the people of Ontario.

Developing the green belt should be off the table!! Enough of lining the pockets of Fords buddies. The PC’s corrupt and destroy our public service for the betterment of their own wallets. Stop development of our farmlands and critical species habitat.

So your proposal is to build single family homes to fix the housing crisis by developing areas of the greenbelt?! This is absolutely disgusting and a terrible proposition and should be stopped immediately. Ontario needs to keep these lands protected! Read more

We are in a time where fighting climate change has gotten the most dire, and housing vacancies are at an outrageously high rate. This is not the time to be destroying our greenbelt. We need that land intact more than ever, especially when this proposal does not solve the issues it addresses. Read more

I am an Ontario resident. I’m 28 and I feel that the unnecessary destruction of the green belt is not needed. With climate change and an increasingly dying earth we need conservation more then before. We have many empty office buildings in toronto and the GTA. Read more

We don't need mansions or flooding in the greenbelt. We need to reporpose empty buildings and create better lower income housing. Leave the animals alone and find a better way. We need all the conservation of the green parts of the city that we can get/keep. Read more

I am vehemently apposed to the Green belt being violated. It was stipulated by the Ford administration that he would NOT be touching the green belt. Be a man of your word. This does not benefit the people of Ontario, it's only lining the pockets of Ford and his friends.

Focus on repurposing vacant building in Toronto into low income housing instead of destroying essential ecosystems in the green belt. Listen to professionals who have voiced that this project is not going to help with gridlock or off set housing issues. Read more

This proposal will only benefit the wealthy, destroy the environment (the aftermath of which will cost the Province more down the road) and hurt Ontarians who rent. We need to have proper rent control so new properties built after 2018 can't raise the rent above the cap every year like they do now. Read more

This is unacceptable. The greenbelt must be protected. Canada is a large country. Ontario is a large province and there is a lot of land that can be used instead of touching our greenbelt. Provide incentives for living outside of major cities and the GTA. Read more
