Please do not sacrifice the Greenbelt in the name of the housing crisis. There are so many other opportunities to increase density or develop elsewhere without destroying or impacting one of the most important naturally protected land in our province.

I would like to voice my absolute opposition to opening up parcels of the Greenbelt to development. The fact that this government is willing to put environmentally sensitive land at risk for the profit of a small number of developers is outrageous and beyond conscionable. Read more

I do not support the development of green space for housing. Municipalities have offered other housing solutions, and we have many existing spaces and buildings which could be repurposed to support demand. Additionally, we could be developing outside the GTA. Read more

I DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE AMENDMENTS. Taking land away from the greenbelt is a travesty. If you really wanted to address the housing shortage, easing zoning policies to allow more dense housing in areas that are, right now, dominated by single family homes would be much more effective.

The greenbelt was established for a number of reasons, building over it helps no one. Ontario has a lot of space. Why not find a way to encourage settlement away from the GTA/Golden Horseshoe? Why not build in the north and find a way to incentivise population growth there? Read more

I strongly believe we should NOT develop the protected land that is the Green Belt. If we need more housing, build vertically (more high density housing). Do not take over land that Ontario and Ontarians have already decided to protect for environmental reasons. Read more

I am deeply appalled by the sneaky arrangement to have the Greenbelt divvied up and hand delivered to The premier’s buddies. It’s a disgusting attempt to make it seem like it is in the provinces best interest when in fact it’s nothing more than another slap in the face. Read more
