In light of climate change, I am completely against these proposed changes. It is a proven fact that green and biodiverse areas help to combat climate change in many different ways. For example, the greenbelt itself absorbs a ton of carbon. Read more

The conservative government in Ontario, led by Doug Ford, PROMISED to not open the green belt to construction. This was promised BEFORE the election, and the result of the election could very well have been different if this promise had not been made. KEEP YOUR PROMISE! Read more

The greenbelt needs to be protected. This is valuable land that, once developed, we can never get back. Building housing here will only add to the urban sprawl that we are already suffering under. Smart density is the answer to housing issues. Read more

This is the wrong thing to do. Once we build over these green spaces it will be hard to restore it to what it once was. Ontario's Greenbelt is one of the marvels of the world. We have no maximized building spaces in the GTA. Who does this benefit? Why are we doing something like this? Read more

I don't support this at all. Real estate is expyon the city, very few people could afford it. So who would benefit once the greenbelt is developed? Not Ontarians for sure since people can't afford to buy property anymore. Legislate air bnbs and real estate speculators and foreign buyers. Read more

Doug Ford was elected on a promise to not touch the Greenbelt. For the sake of future generations, do not make any changes to the current Geenbelt. In fact, it is my belief that more conservation areas and forested land should come under protection of the government. Read more
