The green belt protects our land, our city, our future, our legacy. Motions to remove it in any capacity are upsetting, disheartening and incredibly short sighted. PLEASE leave the Greenbelt alone. It is protected for a reason, let’s keep it that way.

I am strongly opposed to this proposal. While I understand the need to increasing house ing Ontario, this is not the appropriate way to address this. This land was protected for a reason and should not be opened up for development, and any moves to open it up will establish a precedent. Read more

I have been a Conservative voter all my life but Bill 23 will end my support. The protected Greenbelt should not be paved over for housing. The environmental lands it encompasses are important for their biodiversity and flood absorption properties. Read more

Back in 2018, Doug Ford stated: "The people have spoken — we won't touch the Greenbelt. Very simple. That's it, the people have spoken. I'm going to listen to them. They don't want me to touch the Greenbelt, we won't touch the Greenbelt." The Government has clearly broken this promise. Read more

I oppose the development of highway 413. This highway is not a step forward toward a clean and green future. The production of a new highway would only increase our GHG emissions. Additionally, the implications on the health of the citizens living near highways should also be considered. Read more

I appreciate that the provincial government is concerned about the lack of affordable housing for Ontarians. As a young person hoping to have a future in Ontario, it looks bleak in terms of being able to afford the cost of living in the coming years. Read more

I refuse to accept that ruining the Greenbelt is the one way forward to providing the homes needed to accommodate new immigrants coming to the GTA. Like most other people commenting, I can say that the Greenbelt forms an essential part of who we are as Torontonians and Ontarians. Read more

Don't destroy the wetlands. We'll never get them back. As a young person, can you please give care about us? To the policy makers -- maybe you don't care about our environmental future, but you should for us, and we're begging you to PRESERVE THE WETLANDS. Read more
