Premier Ford promised not to touch the Greenbelt. I am registering my deep concerns with these amendments and the door they open to future incursion on the Greenbelt. 50,000 homes does not justify trampling over the will of the people of Ontario.
This proposal does not have the support of the people, is not for the good of the people, and is certainly not for the good of Ontario's environment. It will undo decades of environmental stewardship, science, consultation and law-making.

In 2018, the Premier said “We won’t touch the Greenbelt. We’ll figure out how to clean up this housing mess, the housing crisis we’re facing, in a different fashion.”

I think developing the greenbelt goes against all environmental and climate action goals the government has set out to meet. There are ways to address the housing crisis without developing this land. The ford government also needs to be investigated because of the developer and land owner ties.
