Why consultation isn't required
Part II of the Environmental Bill of Rights Act, 1993 does not apply to proposals to make a Minister's Zoning Order (MZO) under subsection 47(1) of the Planning Act, or to amend or revoke an MZO under subsection 47(8) of the Planning Act.
Bulletin details
A Zoning Order Amendment, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, regulates the use of land and the erection, location and use of any building or structure on the land.
O. Reg. 362/20, as amended by Ontario Regulation 514/22, facilitates the development of a mixed-use community, complete with residential and commercial uses.
The amendment made through Ontario Regulation 514/22 applies the Town of Caledon’s zoning requirements for the Residential Two – Exception 614 Zone, as set out in Zoning By-law 2006-50, to the Low-Density Residential Zone, outlined in Reference Map 244.
O. Reg. 362/20, as amended, applies to approximately 101 hectares of land located in the community of Mayfield West in the Town of Caledon. For illustrative purposes, the lands are shown in the map below.
