Proposal details
This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for industrial sewage treatment works serving Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG) Chute Generating Station, located in West Timiskaming, Ontario.
OPG is proposing to install an oil skimmer in the station sump at the facility. The station sump contains water originating from different sources within the station, such as floor drains, unit drains, etc.
Water and other fluids from leakage or spillage in the station are also collected in the sump. The sump discharges to the station's tailrace and ultimately to the Montreal River.
The newly installed sump oil skimmer would collect any potential oil in the sump. The oil would be collected and disposed of in accordance with regulatory requirements.
