The approval allows the Township of East Garafraxa to increase the number of tonnes of aggregate that may be removed in each calendar year. licence No. 3595 was increased from 53,400 to 250,000, and licence No. 625233 was increased from 60,000 to 250,000. This request addresses the higher demand for aggregates in the area.

Proposal details
Application has been made by Township of East Garafraxa to vary a condition of the current licence(s) to authorize an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed in a calendar year. The current licence(s) condition states that “It is a condition of this licence that no more than 60,000 tonnes of material be removed in any one calendar year”. Township of East Garafraxa has requested that the tonnage limit be increased to 250,000 tonnes annually.
The increase has been requested by the licensee to address the higher demand for aggregates in the area.
