The government needs to incentivize employers to allow people to work from home in a FULLY REMOTE capacity. The number of job listings that lie about remote work is staggering, and taking people out of their cars will pave a way for decreases emissions.
Building new gas plants without CCUS ‘externalizes’ the cost savings from not capturing and sequestering the otherwise emitted CO2. Other sectors in Ontario’s and Canada’s economies must reduce their emissions to offset emissions from the new gas plants.

The Appendix A worksheet “8. Cost Analysis” does not include a column for the Levelized Cost of Electricity for each generation option. LCOE is a commonly used and useful indicator for evaluating and comparing power plant life cycle electricity generation costs.

Energy storage is an important component identified in the P2D report. However, the IESO does not seem to have considered using salt caverns to store hydrogen produced in Ontario using low-carbon off-peak power.
