Ontario should continue to source most of its power from non-emitting sources, as it does today. I strongly support continuing to service the bulk of the grid's base load (the load below which demand never dips) with nuclear power generation, which is a clean, safe, and stable source of power.

So happy to see large nuclear construction being considered. We are already late starting the siting and construction. Large nuclear is the only practical solution on the table.
The initiative is great. Many of the plans are good. The main issue I have is with the time line. We need to eliminate over consulting and over researching and involving too many layers.

Ontario has such huge potential for the cleanest of energy - hydroelectric power. It is cleaner than wind or solar and the equipment used to produce that power has an extensive lifetime with little maintenance unlike solar panels and windmills.

There are many different opportunities that could result in energy production while also decreasing the effect of other GHG emission, especially those related to landfill gases.

The commitment to pursue "no-regret" actions now is critical to ensure the framework and policies are enabled that permit the Government of Ontario and industries to be aligned in pursuit of energy generation supply initiatives are able to be acted upon in a timely manner.
