Update Announcement

This bulletin has been updated to reflect the passing of the Bill 69, Reducing Inefficiencies Act (Infrastructure Statute Law Amendments), 2023, which was introduced by the Minister of Infrastructure on February 27, 2023. The Bill received Royal Assent on May 18, 2023. The purpose of this notice is to provide a summary for information purposes only regarding potential legislative changes contained in Reducing Inefficiencies Act (Infrastructure Statute Law Amendments), 2023.

Bulletin details

The proposed omnibus bill contains the following proposed legislative amendments: Ministry of Infrastructure (MOI) Posting:

  • The Ontario government is proposing amendments to the Ministry of Infrastructure Act, 2011 and complementary amendments to nine (9) Acts that would establish a framework to remove and/or modify the realty authority of fourteen (14) entities under Phase 1 of the Centralization of Broader Real Estate (CBRRA) initiative and to provide the Minister of Infrastructure with the ability to oversee and manage this real estate. If the proposed Bill is passed this would allow the government to act as one holistic organization to improve the management of real estate across ministries and entities.
