The Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery (MPBSD) updated its Statement of Environmental Values (SEV) to reflect changes to the ministry name, structure, and mandate.
A comprehensive review of the SEV, including public consultation on all sections, will be conducted in 2026. MPBSD has committed to reviewing its SEV every five years.
The Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993 (EBR) is a piece of legislation that is an important tool in environmental protection. The EBR establishes mechanisms to ensure the public is informed, engaged, and consulted on matters of environmental significance. It also provides for accountability in environmental decision-making in the government.

Public consultation on the proposal for this decision was provided for 30 Days, from March 31, 2023 – April 30, 2023. The ministry received no comments within the consultation period and has decided not to make any additional changes to our updated SEV.
