This bulletin is for information only, as a closure plan amendment is not an instrument under the Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993. The Ministry of Mines is posting this bulletin to the Environmental Registry to keep the public informed of changes to mining projects in Ontario. Bulletin details
The proposed change to the project is a return to underground mining at the site. This will utilize existing infrastructure and new infrastructure. New features include:
- portal
- spiral ramp
- ventilation shaft
- mine air heater and ventilation fan
- dewatering infrastructure: sumps, pipelines
- dewatering pond
- onsite roads
- buildings: truck shop, maintenance area, warehouse, mine dry and office, security trailer
- low-grade ore stockpile
- waste rock storage facility
- overburden stockpile
- power supply and distribution
- fuel storage and distribution
