Original proposal
Proposal details
This proposal is for an amendment to the Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 8649-BH6NYU with Limited Operational Flexibility for Korzite Coatings Inc., a paint manufacturing facility located in Guelph, Ontario.
The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that exhaust to the air include:
- mixing machines
- a dust collector
- general ventilation exhausts
- paint spray booth
- natural gas fired comfort heating
The amendment includes:
- an increase of total paint production from 11,356 to 45,460 litres of total paint per day
- an increase from 2,722 to 7,796 kilograms per year of lead chromate based pigment raw material
- an increase from 136 to 1,559 to kilograms per year of zinc chromate based pigment raw material
- the inclusion of 4,678 kilograms per year of strontium chromate based pigment raw material.
Emissions to the air from this facility include:
- suspended particulate matter
- xylenes
- ethylbenzene
- lead
- hexavalent chromium
The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air).
The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
