Why consultation isn't required
This bulletin is for information only, as a closure plan amendment is not an instrument under the Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993. The Ministry of Mines is posting this bulletin to the Environmental Registry to keep the public informed of changes to mining projects in Ontario. Bulletin details
The proposed change to the project is preliminary underground development and supporting infrastructure for advanced exploration.
New features include:
- Shaft, portal and ramp
- Two ventilation raises
- Fans and heating system (including propane storage)
- Onsite access
- Pad for the shaft and portal laydown area
- Pad at each of the raise locations
- 230 kilovolt powerline off the existing transmission line
- Electrical substation
- Extension to existing Sagimeo Lodge buildings- three additional wings to accommodate up to 415 new workers/contractors
- Offices and temporary maintenance shop for the shaft and ramp development
- Exploration drift at the 200 metres level to facilitate additional exploratory diamond drilling
