Cargill Limited - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 6376-BFQJYS for Cargill Limited, a facility that processes live poultry and produces frozen chicken meat products located in the City of London, Ontario.

The emission sources from the facility and the associated processes that discharge to the air include:

• a processing boiler
• oil burners
• exhausts from boning room, prep room and blending lines

The amendment is for:

• the increase of the production limit for the number of birds processed per day
• an increase in kilograms of product prepared per hour

Emissions to the air from this facility include:

• nitrogen oxides
• particulate matter
• vegetable oil
• carbon dioxide
• carbon monoxide
• peracetic acid

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air).

The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment to renew these conditions.
