A new Environmental Compliance Approval (Sewage) was granted to Jones Falls Hospitality Inc., for the modifications and updates to existing four sanitary sewage treatment and subsurface disposal systems rated at a total design flow rate of 35,369 litres per day, serving a seasonal hotel/restaurant - Hotel Kenney, located at 59 Kenney Road, in the Township of Rideau Lakes, Ontario.

The approved modifications and upgrades include re-arrangement of service area of each sewage system, upgrade and/or replacement of septic tanks and pump chambers of Sewage Systems #1 and #4, addition of a 6,000 litres oil/grease interceptor, a 30,000 litres balancing tank and a 20,000 litres per day Waterloo Biofilter treatment unit for Sewage System #2, as well as addition of a 12,000 litres septic tank and replacement of existing leaching bed with a new 3,000 litres per day Eljen GSF treatment and dispersal bed for Sewage System #3.

What is considered

The appeal body will consider the following two questions in deciding whether to grant you leave to appeal:

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) to be issued to Jones Falls Hospitality Inc., for the establishment, use and operation of the proposed sewage works for the treatment and subsurface disposal of domestic sewage, rated at a total daily design sewage flow of 35,369 liters per day, to service Hotel Kenney Rideau, located at 59 Kenneys Road, Elgin, Ontario.
