Decision details
The changes to the site plan for ARA Licence No. 625855 and 2079 were approved by the Director on April 9, 2024. The approval allows Lafarge Canada Inc. to create a berm using silt material generated from on-site operations of Licence 2079. Lafarge is also allowed to change the final end use of licence 625855 (Sunning Dale) from a pond to a meadow grass and pasture species by backfilling the pond with material native from the adjacent licence Stead-Day pit Licence No. 2079. Once the berm will be completed, the pond will be filled to grade. The berm will remain after surrender of the licence.

Original proposal
Proposal details
Application has been made by Lafarge Canada Inc. to amend the current site plan of licence 2079 (Stead Day) to allow for the creation of a berm using silt material generated from on-site operations. Lafarge is also seeking to change the final end use of licence 625855 (Sunning Dale) from a pond to a meadow grass and pasture species by backfilling the pond with non-imported material from the adjacent licence Stead-Day pit Licence No. 2079. Once the berm will be completed, the pond will be filled to grade. The berm will remain after surrender of the licence. Since Licence No. 2079 shares a joint site plan with adjacent licences No.2082 and 20653, all will receive an updated site plan.
