Proposal details

The proposal is for an amendment to obtain a single Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECA) combining ECA No. 4-101-67-686 and previously issued Notices, along with ECA No. 3638-5LHKE3 for industrial stormwater management works serving St. Marys Cement Inc. (Canada), located at 410 Bowmanville Avenue in Clarington, Ontario.

The Site wide stormwater management system is proposed to detain and treat stormwater from the site prior to discharge to the downstream receiver, Darlington Creek and ultimately to Lake Ontario. The proposed Site drainage strategy will include conveyance via storm sewers, ditches and culverts to stormwater management ponds (including pre-treatment ponds, wet ponds, an oil separation pond, and infiltration ponds), some of which work in series, in addition to an underground mixing tank and two oil/grit separators.

The stormwater will be treated prior to either being discharged into Darlington Creek or infiltrated.
