Proposal details

This proposal is for an amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 6518-97RLTQ with Limited Operational Flexibility for GP Wood Products North ULC, as general partner for and on behalf of GP North Woods LP, a strandboard manufacturing facility located at 327022 Highway 11 North in the Town of Englehart, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include:

  • natural gas-fired process heating equipment
  • paint booths
  • baghouses, and
  • dryer stacks

This amendment is to reflect updates to the equipment and processes at the facility.

Emissions to the air from this facility include:

  • nitrogen oxides
  • formaldehyde
  • benzo(a)pyrene
  • carbon monoxide
  • ethanol
  • acetone
  • methane
  • sulphur dioxide
  • particulate matter

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
