Northern Sun Mining Corp. - Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage)

This proposal from Northern Sun Mining Corp. is to amend Environmental Compliance Approval No. 6790-AW6RCL for modifications to the existing sewage works for the expansion of the tailings storage facility, and to include new process material (gold ore for pre-processing) to the existing milling facility, located at the Redstone Mill, located in South Porcupine, City of Timmins, Ontario.

The proposed modifications include adding a new tailings area, as well as the replacement of existing final effluent disposal facility with a new final effluent disposal facility that consists of a pumping station, a 750 metres long effluent pipeline and outlet structure, discharging final effluent into a new receiver - Redstone River. New receiver based effluent compliance limits are to be imposed for the final effluent discharge.
