This proposal is to amend the Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 5202-C255LD for GFL Environmental Services Inc. for the emissions from the operation of a waste transfer, storage, and processing station located in the City of Timmins, Ontario.

This application is to add a sludge containment and processing system, consisting of two dewatering/mixing bins in a concrete or asphalt pad. The sources at the facility include:

  • aboveground liquid waste storage tanks
  • radiant heaters
  • forced air furnace
  • solidification pads
  • trucks and trailers

Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

  • nitrogen oxides
  • volatile organic compounds
  • noise
