Honda Canada Inc. operating as Honda of Canada Mfg. - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 0136-BXUMXY for Honda Canada Inc., operating as Honda of Canada Mfg.

The facility produces completed passenger vehicles and includes production of stamped parts, engines, bumper fascia and instrument panels. It is located in Alliston, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include:

• stamping
• welding
• painting
• injection moulding
• aluminum melting and die casting
• machining, and
• assembly and testing

The amendment includes replacement of the Ecoat RTO and change to the ecoat supplier. Emissions to the air from this facility include,:

• ethylene glycol butyl ether
• n-Butyl acetate
• isobutyl acetate
• tetramethyl decyndiol
• naphthalene
• nitrogen oxides
• xylenes, and
• aliphatic polyisocyanate resin

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
