Colt Canada Corporation - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air and noise) which replaces all the current Environmental Compliance Approvals for air and noise at this facility and will include the addition of new or historically unapproved sources for all emissions from Colt Canada Corporation, operating a facility that manufactures and maintains military and police grade small arms, located at 1036 Wilson Avenue in Kitchener, Ontario.

The application includes all sources at the facility that exhaust to the atmosphere, including:

• proofing pit exhausts
• murphy dust collectors, and
• a parts washer/dip tank exhaust

This application is to amend the Environmental Compliance Approval No. 7693-9HDS7X to add Limited Operational Flexibility to the approval.

Emissions to the atmosphere from this facility include:

• lead
• petroleum distillate
• particulate matter

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
