Proposal details

This proposal is for the renewal of the Limited Operational Flexibility for Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 4694-9LWQ33 for S.C. Johnson and Son Manufacturing, ULC, a manufacturing facility producing household consumer and personal care products including candles, air fresheners, soaps, and conditioners located in the City of Brantford, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include natural-gas fired boilers, cooling towers, dust collector, ink jet cleaning station, plasma cutter, and the exhaust from welding stations, the solvent storage room, battery charging stations and the carbon filter.

Emissions to the air from this facility include:

  • nitrogen oxides,
  • particulate matter, and
  • odour.

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
