Harold Sutherland Construction Ltd. - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (Air & Noise) for Harold Sutherland Construction Ltd., for the operations of a hot-mix asphalt plant and aggregate pit, located in the Township of Georgian Bluffs, Ontario.

This application includes all emission sources from the facility that exhaust to the atmosphere including one hot-mix asphalt plant with a rotary drum dyer/mixer, baghouse dust collector, asphalt cement storage tanks and hot-mix asphalt storage silos, generators, and one aggregate pit with crushers, screeners, wash plant, conveyors, and fugitive emissions from the delivery, storage, and transfer of material. Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

• nitrogen oxides,
• benzene,
• benzo(a)pyrene,
• particulate matter,
• sulphur dioxide, and
• respirable crystalline silica (quartz).
