An independent forest audit is something done by logging companies and developers. They are bound to be biased towards their industry. I would suggest that everyone conducting the audit not be linked to the logging industries nor developers. Read more

As a trapper in Northern Ontario I see trees that have replaced the original forest are sprayed in order to help them and control the growth of competitive plants. The trouble is very few animals live in that type of environment. Read more

Ontario's comfortingly titled “Independent Forest Audit” (IFA) sounds like there is someone keeping an eye on the 50 million ha of our forests where logging happens. In truth, these “audits” have become greenwashing (defined as promoting an image of sustainability without substantive backing). Read more
