Proposal details
The proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for industrial sewage treatment and stormwater management works serving the Stelco Hamilton Works facility, located at 1055 Industrial Drive in Hamilton, Ontario.
The stormwater management works are comprised of Stormwater Quality Control, Quantity Control, and Erosion Control works, and include on-site storm sewers that will discharge to City of Hamilton twin box culvert.
The industrial sewage treatment works comprise of collection system, an oil, grit and sediment separator (OGS), effluent measurement/monitoring equipment and associated appurtenances, and are designed to meet Effluent Quality requirements prior to discharge to the City of Hamilton twin box culvert.
The Ministry may require monitoring of the industrial wastewater and stormwater effluent discharge leaving the site.
