This decision is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for industrial sewage works for vegetable wash water serving Greenway Advance Produce (Pedro Rodrigues) located at 2203 Canal Road, in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
The vegetable wash water works comprise of indoor vegetable washing equipment including an infeed chute, a rotating drum washer equipped with brushes and a water line, and sedimentation and recycling tanks and associated appurtenances which discharge wash water to an external 4 celled lagoon approximately 4 metres x 35 metres (total dimension). The lagoon is equipped with an French drain outlet which infiltrates lagoon effluent into the subsoils. From time to time, accumulated solids in the lagoon are removed and applied to the agricultural fields on the property.
The Ministry requires monitoring of the vegetable wash water leaving the site once a year.

To seek leave to appeal, you need to do these three things:

1. Prepare your application
You’ll need to prepare an application. You may wish to include the following things in your application:

- your interest in the decision, and any facts you want taken into account in deciding whether you have an interest in the decision

- whether the decision could result in significant harm to the environment
- the reason(s) why you believe that no reasonable person – having regard to the relevant law and to any government policies developed to guide decisions of that kind – could have made the decision
- the grounds (facts) you’ll be using to appeal
- the outcome you’d like to see

- Copies of all supporting documents, facts and evidence that you’ll be using to appeal
What is considered
The appeal body will consider the following two questions in deciding whether to grant you leave to appeal:
- is there is good reason to believe that no reasonable person, with respect to the relevant law and to any government policies developed to guide decisions of that kind, could have made the decision?
- could the decision you wish to appeal result in significant harm to the environment?
