Proposal details

This proposal is for an amendment to the Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 1304-9SYTSM with Limited Operational Flexibility for Taro Pharmaceuticals Inc., a manufacturer of topical pharmaceuticals located in the City of Brampton, Ontario.

The application includes all sources at the facility, including fume hoods, general ventilation exhausts, process and non-process sources of combustion and a cooling tower. The amendment is to reflect modifications to the facility including the expansion of the facility to include 114 East Drive.

Emissions to the atmosphere from this facility include:

  • suspended particulate matter
  • propylene glycol
  • chloroform
  • products of combustion such as nitrogen oxides

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
