Pure Metal Galvanizing ULC - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for an Environmental Compliance Approval (Air) No. 6105-AAZKW5 for Pure Metal Galvanizing ULC, a hot dip galvanizing process and spin galvanizing facility to protect steel products from corrosion, located in the City of Mississauga, Ontario. The emission sources and associated processes that discharge to the air include tanks; kettles and boilers. The amendment includes dust collectors; fume hood and rebuild of the large kettle. Emissions to the air from this facility include:

• zinc oxide;
• zinc chloride;
• nitrogen oxides;
• aqua ammonia;
• particulate matter,
• lead oxides; and
• copper oxide.

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (Air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (Air). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
