MacEwen Petroleum Inc. - Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage)

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (industrial sewage works) for MacEwen Petroleum Inc. mobile sewage works for the treatment of surface water and/or groundwater impacted with petroleum hydrocarbon contaminates, including both gasoline and diesel fuel based-parameters, and oil or lubricants contaminants.

Each mobile unit is capable of treating surface water and/or groundwater at a rate of approximately 110 litres per minute (more than one of these systems may be used simultaneously on the same site) and is comprised of one OWS-20 30 GPM Oil Water Separator; one number 2 size bag filter; one Organo Clay Filtration vessel; and two Liquid Phase Carbon Filtration vessels with a 900 lbs capacity of liquid phase carbon per vessel all connected in series, all housed in a secured mobile trailer.

Treated effluent from the works meeting Provincial Water Quality Objectives or Ontario Drinking Water Standards is to be disposed through discharge onto the ground, surface water body, controlled structure, sanitary sewer or storm sewer depending on the site location.
