1000198696 Ontario Inc. - Environmental Compliance Approval (waste)

The proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for a Waste Disposal Site (processing) for 1000198696 Ontario Inc. at 11881 Highway 64 North in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario.

The 13.7 hectare site will be used as a hydrovac soil processing facility. The site receives slurry from hydrovac vehicles from multiple sites in Northern Ontario and dry soil is generated by physical water separation; with a maximum daily receiving rate of 50 tonnes of liquid soil and a maximum total storage capacity of 100 tonnes of dry soil at any one time. Soil and aggregate material will be tested and sold for beneficial reuse to local customers or reused on site. Residual soil which does not meet reuse criteria is transported and disposed of at a permitted off-site treatment or disposal facility in accordance with an existing Waste Management ECA.

Separated water will be collected in on-site ponds and be subject to evaporation and infiltration into the site soils. Receiving, processing and shipping may take place between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The site also occasionally provides emergency hydrovac services outside typical operating hours (e.g., after hours and weekends).
