Proposal details

This proposal is for an amendment to the existing Environmental Compliance Approval No. A230634 (waste disposal) for Maple Transfer and Recycling Inc. (MTR) for a non-hazardous solid waste transfer and processing facility.

The site is a 2.47 hectare property located in the City of Vaughan, Ontario. The facility accepts solid, non-hazardous waste including commercial and industrial waste (C&I), construction and demolition waste (C&D), leaf and yard waste and residential landscaping soils and non-hazardous contaminated soil.

The operations at the facility include receiving the acceptable waste, sorting and storage of the waste prior to shipment, processing the wood waste to reduce as required. The applicant requests that the maximum amount of incoming waste is increased to 950 tonnes per day, with a maximum on-site storage capacity of 1950 tonnes of unprocessed waste and sorted/processed wastes.

The applicant is also requesting that the maximum amount of incoming residential and landscaping soils is 1,000 tonnes per day and that the maximum amount of incoming non-hazardous contaminated soils is 1,000 tonnes per day. MTR is requesting that receiving and shipping of wastes and soils may occur from seven AM to seven PM, Monday to Saturday. The site serves the Province of Ontario.
