Bulletin summary

The proposed work program for the Whitehills Anorthosite Project would be a trenching and a bulk sampling program removing no more than 1000 tonnes of material, keeping the project below the threshold of advanced exploration. The location of the bulk sampling is a rock outcrop at surface level, in a forest area.

Why consultation isn't required

The Whitehills Anorthosite Project is an undertaking subject to the Environmental Assessment Act. This proposed Category B project is being carried out in accordance with the Class Environmental Assessment for Activities under the Mining Act. Consultation will be completed in accordance with requirements of the Class Environmental Assessment.

Proposal details:

The proponent is an incorporation, 5051318 Ontario Corp, which holds 100% of the nine contiguous unpatented mining claims in the Township of Hagerman, approximately 32 km Northeast of Parry Sound. The early exploration activities and bulk sampling will occur on two of the nine mining claims (888109 and 888060).

The material, anorthosite aggregate, will be tested for multiple applications, a portion will be sent to a mill in Ontario specializing in colored aggregates for processing and inspection.

Extraction of the material is proposed to be done using percussion drilling and explosives. Broken muck will be loaded onto trucks and transported for testing and inspection purposes. The material will be removed from site by transport truck and no crushing or further processing of the material will happen on site.
