10393444 Canada Inc. - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 1568-9PQRTF for 10393444 Canada Inc., for their underground mining operations at Black Fox Mine, Froome Development Mine, and Grey Fox Mine, located in the Township of Matheson, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include:

• crushers
• baghouses
• storage piles
• furnaces
• ore handling and transferring
• assaying
• blasting and other mining operations

The amendment includes the expansion of underground mining into the Froome and Grey Fox Zones, removal of the open pit mining operations, and the renewal of the Operational Flexibility condition for ore and mine rock productions. Emissions to the air from this facility include:

• manganese
• nitrogen oxides
• carbon monoxide
• suspended particulate matter
• chromium
• arsenic

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The Limited Operational Flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
