This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) for Imperial Oil Limited, a petroleum refining facility, for the operation of an in-situ soil remediation system for the treatment of soil and groundwater at the former petroleum bulk plant located in Bancroft, Ontario.

This application includes all emission sources from the facility that exhaust to the atmosphere including air sparging wells, vapour extraction wells, and associated mechanical equipment such as blowers, compressors, fans, and more. Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

  • anthracene
  • benzene
  • fluorene
  • hexane
  • mineral spirits
  • naphthalene
  • toluene, and
  • xylenes
