Proposal details

This proposal is to amend the Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 8806-AWFRYX for Shell Canada OP Inc. and Shell Canada Limited as general partners for and on behalf of Shell Canada Products, a petroleum refinery located in the Township of St. Clair, Ontario.

This proposal is for the inclusion of Tank 74 containing crude as an internal floating roof tank with a geodesic dome. As part of this upgrade a new floating roof will be installed in Tank 74. The sources at the facility include storage tanks, heaters, boilers, flares, fluidized catalytic cracking unit, incinerators, loading, vapor recovery unit, refinery fugitives, and a wastewater treatment plant. Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

  • 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene
  • cyclohexane
  • ethyl benzene
  • hydrogen sulphide
  • naphthalene
  • toluene
  • xylenes (mixed isomers)
  • noise
