Consolidating Ontario's conservation authorities is an absolutely obtuse and short-sighted decision. Its extremely important to have local offices with enough regional expertise to ensure our drinking water and farmlands remain protected and safe. Read more

It seems ludicrous to combine the Lake Huron and superior watersheds into one region. The stated goals are that regions represent the watershed for their geographic area- combining these areas that are 1500 km appart and DO NOT share the same watershed into “one” region is completely wrongheaded. Regarding 025-1257: As a concerned citizen, it's my belief that the current structure of the Conservation Authorities is the best set up to serve Ontarians; the CAs should not be consolidated. Read more

This consolidating of conservation authorities isn’t a good idea. First of all the different conservation authorities are set up around different watersheds not municipalities because rivers, streams and lakes don’t follow municipal boundaries. Read more

I believe consolidation of the various conservation authorities is an excellent idea. It creates standard policies, standards, fees and technical capabilities. It will hopefully create standard turnaround times also for approvals across all conservation authorities. Read more

I disagree with the proposed realignment of Ontario's conservation authorities. I live in Mount Forest which would go from being serviced by the Saugeen Valley CA, out of Owen Sound, to the proposed Huron-Superior CA, which covers an area as far west as Thunder Bay.

We must not allow another domino to fall in our provinces beautiful landscape & wildlife. Allowing our conversation authorities to be amalgamated will lead to a loss of service, less funding & less specific care for each individual ecosystem we protect within these regions. Read more

Bigger is not always better or cheaper. I believe smaller conservation authorities like we have now are more in tune with the local conditions/problems/and needs of the populations they serve. I do not want to see any consolidation taking place. Read more
