Bulletin summary

We’re preparing new Forest Management Plans for specific management units (MUs) in Ontario where the plan term expires in 2028 and 2029. This notice is for information purposes only.

Why consultation isn't required

We’re sharing this notice to inform the public of our intent to prepare Forest Management Plans. Formal consultation will take place separately for each Forest Management Plan during its planning process.

Under the 2024 Forest Management Planning Manual, this notice fulfills the requirement to publicly share the list of Forest Management Plans to be prepared.

These forest management plans direct forest operations over a ten-year period and are developed in consultation with Indigenous communities, stakeholders, and the public. The planning process takes approximately three years and includes four formal consultation opportunities for First Nation and Métis communities, stakeholders and the public.

This bulletin is intended to provide transparency in accordance with the Environmental Bill of Rights and does not solicit public comment at this stage.
