MetoKote Canada ULC - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 2547-C29KBY for MetoKote Canada ULC, a manufacturing facility providing electrodeposition (E-Coat) and Powder Coating for various metal components and automotive parts, located in the City of Cambridge, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include:

• electrode position coating lines
• powder coating lines
• burn-off ovens, and
• wet spray booths

The amendment includes:

• addition of one burn-off oven with one thermal oxidizer
• replacement and relocation of one existing Infrared oven unit
• relocation of existing burn-off oven
• updated ratings of the two curing ovens, and
• capping off the wet spray booth exhaust

Emissions to the air from this facility include:

• nitrogen oxides
• phosphoric acid
• sulfuric acid
• hydrogen fluoride
• dibutyltin oxide, and
• particulate matter

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The Limited Operational Flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
