This proposal is for an amendment to the Environmental Compliance Approval No. 8277-ABTHF4 (industrial sewage) for Imperial Oil Limited. This amendment application is to establish sewage works for the collection, treatment and disposal of up to 0.219 million cubic metres of process water per year at 602 Christina Street South, Sarnia, Ontario.
The proposed sewage works consist of adding treated effluent discharge (containing sodium sulphate) from a new wet gas scrubber (WGS) purge treatment unit (PTU) and revising the existing discharge criteria for the downstream outfall. The sewage will ultimately discharge to the St. Clair River.
